A highly attractive and beautiful 1965 Rolex Submariner 5513 Gilt Dial Meters First Long 5 Insert Stainless Steel Automatic Wristwatch. Stainless steel Oyster case is in remarkable condition with incredibly thick and well defined bevels and edges. Some natural wear in keeping with age and usage. Original steel screw-in crown is present. Stainless steel 7206 riveted Oyster bracelet with 80 End Pieces is great shape, some light wear is present, and is date coded to first quarter 1967. The original Fat Font Long 5 Insert has developed a gorgeous gun metal tone patina. Original glossy gilt Submariner dial and hands are excellent with a phenomenal honey luminescent color. Dial is free of spidering. Some light lume deterioration at 1 and 4 o'clock. Zinc sulfide tritium glows brightly when exposed to UV and falls off rapidly at the same rate. Oyster Perpetual Caliber 1530 automatic movement is running and has been freshly serviced. Timepiece has retained its original domed plexiglass crystal. Some speckles underneath crystal. This is an incredible example of a Gilt Submariner that rarely pop up for sale.
